Evidence Based

May 30, 2013

NAMI Family-to-Family program is now listed on the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP)

What I've found out since then is that evidence-based means "the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of the individual," and that there is no guarantee that any evidence-based program or practice will work. What it does mean is that the practice or program has been vetted and studied and documented - that one can be sure that it isn't simply someone's bright idea.
